Tissue Culture & Micropropagation of Kappaphycus alvarezii
We have also introduced commercial-scale seedling production of Kappaphycus alvarezii through tissue culture technology, a first in India. This initiative, developed in partnership with AquaAgri at CSMCRI Mandapam, ensures the supply of disease-free, high-quality seedlings. It promotes large-scale, sustainable seaweed farming with better productivity and consistency in biomass quality for industrial use.

Biodegradable & Edible Packaging from Seaweed

Our edible coating films for fresh fruits and vegetables are designed toreduce post-harvest losses by extending shelf life and preventing spoilage. These coatings help address global food loss, which amounts to around 1.3 billion tonnes annually, and contributes to reduced greenhouse gas emissions. They also support industry efforts towards sustainable and efficient packaging solutions that minimize material use and meet growing consumer demand for eco-friendly products.
